Poem — Dance With Me

 She was embarrassed

by the transparency

of deceit

yet she participated in it

every day.

For them

she was embarrassed,

for herself,

for the both of them, together.

“Dance with me,

if we both do it well

we can spare each other’s toes”

And if she does it very well

she will find her dance card

filled.

Indeed,

at this point

she may have forgotten how

to stop dancing.
