Shuffling along with heavy step
They moan at prices
And shambling, groaning
Weighed down by bulky packages
They come – by swarms and hordes,
Descending as one
A plague with no escape
Sea of bodies writhing, shedding clothes and cash
In the heat of the shopping mall
Drawn as if by single purpose
They pursue, crowding in,
Though not knowing what they seek;
Mindlessly
Lurching through stores
And moaning in delight of excess.
