They awake the same
as any other day
going straight to the
drawing board
Bypassing
the most
consequential
event
A healthy
morning shit
They call this routine
disciplined writing
zealots on a keypad
writing down every
little tedious detail
They’ve written
more than me
though there’s no
quality when it comes
to the consistency in this
proliferation of mediocrity
Forcing out
what isn’t there
is wasted toilet paper
on a clean crack
I could do the same
but I see no point
it’s like penetration
on the rag
The job could be done
but I’d rather wait
for the time to be right
than contend with
a desiccated pen
or worse yet
a bloody dick

Michael Marrotti is an author from Pittsburgh, using words instead of violence to mitigate the suffering of life in a callous world of redundancy. His primary goal is to help other people. He considers poetry to be a form of philanthropy. When he’s not writing, he’s volunteering at the Light Of Life homeless shelter on a weekly basis. If you appreciate the man’s work, please check out his book, F.D.A. Approved Poetry, available at Amazon.
